The Temple Venue is a serene, Japanese-inspired yoga studio that serves as a sanctuary for practitioners of all levels. Our space is designed to enhance your yoga journey with polished hardwood floors, tranquil zen gardens, and a calming atmosphere. We focus on creating an immersive experience that promotes mindfulness, powerful movement, and cinematic expression.

 

At The Temple Venue, we believe in fostering a community where everyone can connect with their inner selves and find peace amidst the chaos of everyday life. The Temple doors are now open for the space to be enjoyed for photography, videography, meditation workshops, yoga groups, martial arts, or a private training session.

​Built in 1903 the dojo is over 120 years old. It has had only two functions since it was originally built – It began as the first Hindu Temple in Cape Town before being sold to Goju Kai and Peter Brandon Hanshi because of the apartheid system and group areas act. Little did the government know, Goju Kai was teaching in the townships from 1968 and that Peter Brandon Hanshi was secretly teaching South Africans of all colours and creeds.
